Oatmeal Flaxseed Lactation Cookies
Delicious lactation cookies to naturally boost milk supply.

These oatmeal & flaxseed lactation cookies are specially designed to support breastfeeding moms by increasing milk production naturally. Packed with galactagogues like oats, flaxseed, and brewer’s yeast, they also provide a satisfying snack rich in fiber, healthy fats, and iron — all essential for new mothers during recovery and lactation.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup ground flaxseed
  • 3 tbsp brewer’s yeast
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil or butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1 egg (or flax egg for vegan version)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or raisins (optional)

Instructions

  2. In a large bowl, cream coconut oil, brown sugar, and maple syrup until smooth.
  3. Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, flaxseed, brewer’s yeast, oats, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.

  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are golden. Let cool on rack.

Why These Cookies Work for Lactation

Oats are rich in iron and a known galactagogue. Flaxseeds offer omega-3s and phytoestrogens that support hormonal balance. Brewer’s yeast is high in B-vitamins and selenium which may support milk production and energy levels.
